I wanted to change my bedroom décor for aquite a while. The only thing that was holding me against, was the key fact
that I am renting this space and I am very limited with any changes. Most of
the furniture belongs to my landlord. I have come up few small solutions that refreshed
my bedroom visual appearance and it didn’t cost me a fortune (and I will get my deposit back Yay!). I have decided that is time to re-design my bedroom mainly
based on DIY and only by adding quirky and original pieces from my favourite on-line stores! I have decided to divide
series of this posts into 2 as there is quite a lot to come in here, so I didn’t want to overwhelm you with information’s! Part 1 let’s begin!

changes; I wanted to introduce one of the most awesome online shop I have found
online recently! It’s a shop you can’t miss out if you currently decorating
your house. It’s called www.lovethesign.com/uk/
adore the store. It is translated in many languages and they can deliver to
many countries as well! Delivery is hassle free! You can find here all the most amazing designer pieces,
quirky gifts, stunning lighting and original furniture! It wouldn’t be me if I
just introduce you to a shop. If I ever introduce a store to you my lovely
readers it has to be something unique and where you can save money! So, what I
love in LOVEThESIGN the most is that
they also do Flash sale called LovePromo where you can buy items for up 75%
cheaper! I was fortunate enough to get a stunning designer Muuto Lamp* that was
the main inspiration within my bedroom re-design! The lamp comes with the oversized
light bulb that gives nice glow without overpowering light. It’s a socket
light. I have changed the end and added plug, therefore mine is now just
typical wall light. Lighting is one of the most important key factors when it
comes to design in general. Bedroom is the place where we re-charge our
batteries before a long hard day in work. Having the right ambience in your
bedroom cannot only change the look of it but also has a huge impact on your
mood. The Muuto lamp complete changed the appearance of my bedroom. From a ‘’teenage
like’’ it added a little character that finally suit my age and my profession.
This is only a small proof how important is to add original pieces like this
lamp. I just wish I could buy so many things there! You have the check out the lovely outdoor hammocks, furniture section or if you have kids check out this section to! There is soo many things I wanted from the store so I just had to create you a moodboard! This little pieces (along with those that comes in part 2) would complete my bedroom!

find how to make house planters like that here. I have made pencil holder in
this shape but you can use it either way!Check out here to see how the bedroom looked like before link
changes. I won’t reveal all yet, until my next post! I will start with the
concept behind the changes. I wanted to bring the latest popular Urban Jungle
trend where, you bring green into your space. I was inspired by reading the
Urban Jungle Bloggers posts. I adore how Igor from http://www.happyinteriorblog.com/ and Judith teamed up and create
this so inspirational place! You can’t miss out!Go and check out! Since I have my 2 lovely cats
(read here) I can’t really have plants. Two reasons; 1. They will destroy them
within a minute! 2. They may eat it and become ill. This time I have done my
research properly and I have found out that Tillandsia or Air Plants is safe
for cats and also can be displayed anywhere as it doesn’t required any water or
soil. Winner! I bought 5 different plants of Ebay (£15.00) not so bad! After, I
had my plants I needed of course planters! I fell in love with the geometrical
type of planters (of course geometry what a surprise 😉 I quick realized that I
have still some clay left over from previous DIY sessions (read here) so I decided
to re-use them. Below, please find few
simple instructions on how to make the DIY Geometric Clay Planters. I’ve made
them with one and so is super easy to make it!
Divide your clay depending of
the desired size.
Separate and wrap the unused
one(it dries quick)
Roll flat the clay (you can
use colour ones as well)
Cut out a triangular shape.
You can use paper card to hold
it as well.
Join the shapes together and
smoothed the edges.
Don’t forget to cut holes if
you wish to hang them.
You can use colourful threads
or strings to bring bit of fun.
Leave to dry 48h
double sided sticky take to put them to walls. Voilà!

You have probably noticed my very unique
cow as well! I got this, lovely cow canvas from BHS shop during their sales so grabbed
it for £16! I just love this cow! I think it’s very refreshing and different.
Despite I absolutely loved my art from Next.co.uk (read here) I needed
something a little bit more quirky here.
little more changes as well. I have finally taken off the awful vertical blinds.
Again, taking inspirations from Urban Jungle bloggers I have bought the concrete
planters from TK Max for £3 for the large and £2.50 for small. Bargain! Since, my
hand was still in cast then I have gone for ready done from Hobby Craft but you
can easily make yours from a tissue paper! Below instructions;
Put several sheets of tissue
paper together and bend it.
Use thread or better fish wire
and tight it together.
You can cut out the edges.
Then slowly unfold the edges
Done! Easy huh?
was the lovely orange stool. It was £19 only! I loved the distressed look! I
decided that the old side table (that belongs to landlord) is going to the
spare bedroom and I am adopting this little beauty! I have now put my orange
desk lamp I have bought previously on Ebay for £2, (Read), and this lovely
geometrical candle. Of course my books are here to! I have also upcycled my paper bag and finally my wire unit found home:)
I hope you liked my Part 1 of the bedroom
décor change. In part two there are few more fascinating pieces. My total
spending including the part two DIY materials and pieces is £90. There are few
more DIY to come. I have re-decorated my landlord furniture giving them new
fresh look but I will chat and explain that more in my part two. Also you will
see few more DIY like my pendant lamp, mirror or oversized picture frame. Also I
will chat to you where to find designer look but not price bed covers, so still
my style-Bargains everywhere! More to come!
