Chester is my UK hometown. Despite I wasn’t born in the UK, I spent last 11years here. I remember when I first arrived in Chester, how I lived this little quirky and full of the historic town. I couldn’t speak English but I was determined to learn the language of the place I was living in. I loved every minute of living in Chester, exploring the city and make new friends there.

While living and working in Chester I had the chance to explore not only the town but also the entire Cheshire area. When I think of Cheshire, the first things that come to my mind is the green and sunny place. This is how I remember it, even during dull dark winters, Cheshire always had some sunny and positive parts in it. I can now count several places I lived in Cheshire other than just Chester, Helsby a small village near Frodsham. Before moving to Manchester I used to also live in Altrincham a cute small town and Helsby village. Each of this, bring a smile and positive memories. Such a great places to live with friendly people around. Go ahead and Laurus Homes if you thinking of buying a property in Cheshire, you won’t regret.

If you planning to visit Chester, then here a few tips from the previous resident of 4 years 🙂

1. Chester Cathedral is the must place along with a walk around the Chester Walls. There is something magical to see different ruins or pass along famous Chester Racecourse.
2. Local bars, like Bar Lounge, Upstairs at the grill or Havana- must have visit plus don’t forget to pop for a pint in Marlborough arms with wide selections of beers.
3. Go to the park as is full of friendly squirrels and you can just bring a blanket and enjoy the fresh air.
   Cruise over river Dee. Hands down I never did that, but it’s a must do next time even for me as I watched people enjoying it so many times. 
4. Chester racecourses, other than passing by- during summer take part in it as you can buy cheap tickets and sat on the grass enjoying your Tesco wine 😉
5. The Grosvenor shopping centre is very small, however, packed few fine shops where you can find small boutiques and cafes, so once finish sat for a coffee under one of the arcades and enjoy the local street music players.

Once you visited and enjoyed Chester, take a trip to Cheshire Oaks where you can find many outlets like Mulberry, or Boss and grab 70% cheaper products. A warning, it’s huge so be ready for a full day-long trip! Another Cheshire place I love is Frodsham forest, where you can GO Ape and climb trees, it’s too fun!
