To clean your house quickly and efficiently, you must adopt the right cleaning attitude and avoid being caught in unnecessary time wasting tasks. Most professionals use a cleaning method referred to as task cleaning to get the job done. Task cleaning is when you to complete one chore around the house such as dusting before you move on to the next. The biggest challenge of task cleaning is that you will be walking a little more but it enables you to clean faster as your mind is focused on keep moving. During task cleaning, you should start each task at the highest point in the room and then move from left to right across the room to prevent you from missing anything. I’m also writing a post about end of tenancy cleaning this week, so I will be updating the post accordingly with a relevant link. The new post will be relating to get your tenancy deposit back, ( which is something that I’m currently doing as I’m moving house myself!)
To clean your home faster and efficiently, you should keep an eye on the following checklists:
1. Dust every room
You should thoroughly dust every room including the rarely dusted places such as the topsides of your furniture, handrails, TV screens, undersides of shelves, and picture frames among others. To make the process faster, you should dry dust as wet dust makes the process harder.
2. Clean fabrics and mirrors
You should move from one room to the next focusing on the available fabric. You should strip and remake beds, neaten pillows and brush the furniture surfaces as necessary. You should then wipe out mirrors and windows using a wet and a dry microfiber cloth to avoid leaving streaks.
3. Clean surfaces
With the right tools, you should wipe and disinfect all surfaces and counters in the house without forgetting all places that fingers touch including light switches, door handles, and TV remotes.
4. Clean bathroom and kitchen
Your first step of cleaning the bathroom should be to spray cleaner on sinks, tubs and toilets before returning and scrubbing. In the kitchen, you should wipe down the inside of the cabinet and appliance doors.
5. Clean and vacuum floors
Depending on what your floor needs, you should sweep and then mop or scrub. You should consider the best cordless vacuum cleaner in 2018 to vacuum your way out the bedrooms, down the stairs to the living room and out of the house.
To make your house cleaning more efficient, you should stay focused on the task you are doing to avoid backtracking. The goal should be to make every move count in helping you complete the cleaning quickly. You should also start doing the tasks from the top to bottom and then back to front moving from left to right as you clean the room.
