Bedrooms are important places. They are where you spend at least a third of your life, so you really want to make sure that they are as nice and comfortable as possible. Fortunately, there are lots of ways you can quickly update your bedroom. So, ladies and gentlemen, Here are a few of our favourite approaches.
New bedding
Good linen will improve any bedroom and do so instantly. As you can see here it is not hard to find something that fits in with the style you like. Always look for reversible bedding. That way you get two looks for the price of one.
Control the lighting with blinds
The bedroom is for sleep, and that’s the main function of this space. Of course, some people like to read books, or if you renting a bedroom only, then you would need to use the space for all sort of different functions from study, relaxing, sleeping etc. Sometimes we all work different hours, and many people sleep a day and work night. Also during weekends summer when the sun is up bright, and you still want sleep, then your best solution is to invest in a proper blinds. These can come quite expensive so is important to find something that fits your budget like for example, DirectBlinds.co.uk offers a variety of blinds that can be cheap as well as functional.
Some nice cushions
A nice pile of the right cushions will make your bed look much more inviting. They are also practical. You can easily pop one of the smaller ones behind your head when you are sitting up and reading in bed.
Change your headboard
It does not take long to change a headboard. Usually, they are only secured to the bed using four screws.
If you have a painting above your bed, consider swapping it for a new one. It is really easy to find something suitable online. Or you could take a photo or image you have created and send it off to a print firm and have it turned into a nice canvas print.
Painting an entire room is a bit of a hassle, to say the least. You have to move everything out or, at the very least, cover it all in dust sheets. Then paint or wallpaper and move it all back. It can easily take all day.
In many cases, you can actually get away with decorating one, maybe two, walls. This is a far easier approach. If you can find the right image you could use a full-sized wall sticker to get the job done. Putting one of those up can be done in a little over an hour if two people work together. If you like the idea of doing this, watch this short how-to video. It will help you to decide if using a wall sticker is the best approach for you.
If you do not have any lights installed next to your bed, consider adding some. There are plenty of decent battery powered ones that you can potentially use for the job. If you do not fancy using those just buy a couple of bedside or floor lamps.
Upgrade your flooring
Rugs always look nice in a bedroom. But, if your current flooring is too worn you will need to replace it all. By far the easiest and fastest way to do this is to lay some laminate flooring.
