Colourful carpets and rugs 

While some carpets can be seen as quite boring, there are carpets which are definitely not. Having a brightly coloured carpet can really enhance any room. However, making sure the colour is appropriate and does not heavily clash with furniture is essential.

Rugs come in a variety of colours, patterns and materials and have the bonus of flexibility in that they can be moved between and around rooms. Adding a rug is also a great way to make a room feel a bit cosier and can also protect any flooring from table or chair feet.
