Perhaps, you have noticed through my Instagram that I have been traveling quite a lot this year. As much as I love it, at the same time I am facing quite a lot of problems with my hair, including hair loss. The sun, chlorine from the pool as well as salty water can really damage hair and cause breakage. I decided to write how to look after your hair, and give you a few tips so you can keep your long hair shiny during your holidays.
Moisture. The most important part is to keep your hair moist. As much as applying the product it’s important to keep hydrated from the inside. Drink plenty of water and drink that extra bottle a day to make sure you stay hydrated all the time. Make sure your hair product contains ingredients that keep your hair moist and stay away from sulfates. To prevent a hir loss, consider using hair growth serum as well as additional aspects, so your hair is supported from inside and outside.
The right products. As already mentioned above a good product is the key. I have recently discovered a fantastic product from Knight&Wilson called Pureplex. It contains all ingredients that will help to rester very damaged hair and keep them in fantastic condition. You can buy this at your local Superdrug store. I have already talked about products from this brand when I used to have pink pastel hair and I swear by this brand. Currently, I have hair extensions, so I have upgraded the range of products I am using for my hair.
To prevent a hair loss. You have to very carefully brush your hair. The best you can do is if you use a special hairbrush. Don’t rub your hair with a towel, just smoothly squeeze your hair with towel and best to leave them naturally dry. Also, avoid brushing hair while wet as this can cause breakage. Hair loss also comes with age so sometimes this is no avoidable. If you really suffer from it, consider Advanced Tricho Pigmentation treatment as this can help you if you really struggle. Pick a phone or email them to get further information.
Drying and styling. Drying your hair is probably another big problem. On holiday, usually is warm enough to let your hair dry naturally but if there is a high wind, this can only cause bad rather good as your hair will tangle and if you have extensions, can cause matting. I have recently got Lee Stafford hairdryer that is small and portable and perfect for travels. It includes functions for cold drying which is what I always use. I barely use any hot air at all but you have few settings so you can find your best solution. It dries hair really quickly. Always use heat protector whether styling or drying and if you can leave your hair with natural beach waves rather using curler as hair is already dried so curler is a big no-no.
Night treatment. Always put your hair in a plat overnight and apply oils like coconut oil or better academia oil. Macedemia oil also helps hair grow quicker so it will only benefit. Try to avoid to go to sleep with a wet hair and dry them before sleep as again it can cause matting and breakage. Also, if you have long curly hair check this post for more tips and tricks.
*I was gifted the hairdryer but opinion is my own.
