‘We’ve all been spending more time at home than we normally do, which has been a blessing in disguise for me. It’s given me time to look at my house with new eyes. I might or might have not jumped on the renovating bandwagon – okay, I definitely did… I think the weather doesn’t help either, the dark and dull winter days make me want to bring more colour into my house, and that’s what I’ve been doing! I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that feels this way, so I’m going to share some ways to add colour into your home.
1. Get the paintbrush out.
The easiest way to give your home some colour is to get the paintbrush out and start painting way. Yes, this is a given, I know! However, there are some really fun ways to play around with colour rather than painting a room one colour or painting an accent wall. Instead of going for these, the Handy Squad, handymen service in London, recommend getting creative with tape to create unique graphic patterns on your walls or giving a coat of paint to forgotten spaces in your home, including the back of bookcases or skirting boards.
2. Add colour with artwork.
If grabbing a paintbrush is a no-can-do for you, maybe adding some artwork to your walls will do the trick. You can choose colourful artwork, colourful frames for monochrome artwork or even make your own art if you are feeling creative. Fizzy Peaches mentions on a recent blog post, that the tones of the artwork you choose will have a big impact on the feel of your home – if you want to make your home feel cosier, add artwork with warm shades such as oranges, yellows and reds to your walls.

3. Colourful accessories.
If you prefer to have bare walls but still want to bring some colour into your home, adding some colourful accessories and furniture will be the way to go. This article on Apartment Therapy shared a variety of ways to add colour without picking up a paintbrush, including using colourful pillows and throws, choosing bold curtains and investing in colourful furniture.

4. Bring greenery inside.
As a plant mum myself, this one is my favourite way to add colour to my house. Adding indoor house plants will add texture and colour to your interiors. Plus, green is a great colour to be surrounded with – as Motherhood the Real Deal mentions in her blog post, “green tones stimulate balance and growth in colour psychology” the perfect tone for any room!
