Finally, round your theme off with an essential oil diffuser to conjure up ocean-inspired fragrances. This fragrance is a sure way to invite summer into your bedroom throughout the year.

Create Dramatic Contrast With a Minimalistic Theme

A lush and ever-green paradise theme may not be everybody’s cup of tea. If you are in this group, perhaps you would prefer a more modern, minimalistic feel to your bedroom?

Plants are excellent for creating contrast while maintaining a very minimalistic feel. To make this contrast, use the interior designer’s rule of three. Odd-numbered items in a group are always more pleasing to the eye. 

Use three plants, varying in size and shape. This difference in shape and size will help to create contrast. Remember to keep this style simple, so all three pots need to have the same basic look. Place the three plants either against a wall, on shelves, or on the window sill. 

Round this theme off by making one big, bold statement. A single Fiddle Leaf Fig in the corner of your bedroom will make a grand statement without taking up space. 

If you aren’t keen on a big plant, go with something smaller such as the popular Aloe Vera, but plant it on a lifted planter so that it appears bigger.

Various Vibrant Feminine Shades to Uplift Your Bedroom

Another great way to decorate your bedroom with plants is by going soft, feminine, and vibrant. While this particular theme may be more work than the other ideas we’ve listed here, the rewards are well worth it. 

Look at some Begonias and African Violets to add vibrant colors to your bedroom. Available in various colors, there is something for everyone. They are also great, low-maintenance flowers.

The Chinese Evergreen is one of our favorites as it adds a subtle pop of color. This color can be emphasized by either a beautiful flower stand or a petite terracotta pot.

More is better with this theme, and if you have a wide headboard, add some subtle color to it with small flower pots. Play with heights, mixing tall and short plants to create an exciting effect.

Add scented shelf or drawer liners to give off an exotic, colorful fragrance to your bedroom as a final touch. Don’t forget to add fresh flowers. Go into your garden and pick some of your favorite flowers to display in your bedroom.
