You probably remember my last post about LiveLagom? I promised then to keep you updated! So, today I am sharing my journey in between. After receiving my products from IKEA for my LiveLagom journey, I started organising my whole house to get ready!
Firstly, I had to make sure I have enough space and I am actually not adding any extras but swapping for useful items that last longer. I do live in such a small apartment with already loads of staff that were here, so adding new would create a mess and one thing we don’t cramp this space 😉

I have done a huge clear-out and loads of staff went for gumtree, eBay and Freecycle. I have changed all light bulbs for all LED, and actually additionally bought new furniture from IKEA. Getting my new lamps, was the best decision ever! It’s unreal how pendant light can change the whole appearance of the house!
I have started cooking more often, can you imagine??? ( know 😉 It was a great choice to get new pans, and useful steamer inserts, small jars and lunch boxes. What is better, that I have developed a self-awareness of food wastage! Before, if something comes to an end date I would just throw in the bin, now I have started making shopping lists and weekly food menus. My food containers are basically are used on daily basis, I store food in it that really last longer. It made our lives so much easier. Normally, I would keep food in pans, and now straight after it cool down I am putting into the containers and it last few more days! It’s also easier to just put straight away into a lunch box and take to work next day morning.
It also helps me keep the flat much cleaner as I have no longer food pans on my hob, as I get to wash the pans straight away after transferring to food to containers. I also found the water bottle extremely useful! I am taking it everywhere with me. The picture shows my first days but I do change herbs and currently, there is a mint growing!
Getting new blankets and extra duvet was a great decision as well! We have barely used any heating this winter, only if really necessary. Now, instead of turning the radiator on, I would just wrap myself while watching TV! Cosy!
Originally, I wanted to use my desk lamp in my office space in living room, but I found that I charge my phone when I go to sleep, so I swapped the lamp for my bedside table lamp and it was a better decision! My LED light bulbs and pendant lamps are great! I have chosen cold white light to my bedroom and it’s great as it also helps me when getting pictures done! Before I was struggling when editing as all my pictures appeared with yellow warm tone and you know I like to keep things cold;) My only negatives comes to the oversized Nitro lightbulbs as the-the voltage is small and it barely gives any light, but it was an absolutely hit during winter nights, when I put candles on and watched TV and relaxed, as I needed sort of this type of light.
I also start growing herbs and keep more plants at home. My planter was just perfect for that. I could finally go for plants I wouldn’t normally because I have cat’s but here, it looks really nice because of the great design of it and is safe for my cats. The self-watery planter although wasn’t working great. I am not sure if I have used too much soil but I will try again with different plant/herb and see how it goes.Overall, it has been fantastic and surprising to me as I really care more now and look how to re-use items at home. I am more Livelagom and I am looking forward to seeing how it goes in next few months!

It’s so important to love your home and make it into your sanctuary. Yours looks so bright and relaxing and I imagine it’s easy to work in that pretty environment. I love the pendant light and the way it picks up on the dark leather.
I love how you use your space, it looks so clean and bright. Your desk is super cute.
