Last month, I had the chance to be invited for the glamorous Interior Blog Awards by Amara in London, and I had to find a place to stay in London. London is expensive, especially if you are planning to stay within central London area. After initial panicking if I will just spend half of my monthly salary for 2 nights in London , in rescue came FG Properties. FG Properties is a fabulous concept where you can rent an another apartment for yourself and your friends ( 1,2 and 3bed etc) and prices start from as little as £80 a night ( I know £80 is not little but everyone who tried to book a hotel in central London will know what I mean!)
After being shortlisted 2nd year in a raw in a Best Colour Inspiration and a previous year Winner of Best Newcomer in Amara interior Blog Awards, I was travelling to London with a huge smile on my face. I invited Maxine to stay in one of the rooms, after working with her on a Matalan styling. We chat online for several months and didn’t have much time to chat on the job. I and Maxine after just a few minutes were like friends who know each other for years. As they say, the picture tells 1000s words so you can see how fun we had!

I was kindly invited to stay at their Kensington apartments on Ongar Road, just a few minutes from West Brompton station, which was very convenient while wearing high heels. I did the whole processor booking online and handing keys. I never rented a serviced apartment before and I didn’t really know how it works. It literally was so professional and smooth I was positively surprised. I relied upon a confirmation email and on the date, I had a lady waiting to show me around. There were no keys! I was given a code to enter the property, so this was definitely a fantastic idea considering that I am serial keys loser, literally.
A soon as I walk into the apartment, I was positively surprised by the size of it. It was huge. 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms, with nice airy feeling to it. The apartment was located on a small road far from noisy bars and restaurants and with small steps downstairs. It kind of made me feel more secure. The apartment also had central heating, as it was October and started to be quite cold outside, I had instantly nice and warm inside after putting the radiators on.

As soon as I walk into the living room, I have noticed the big kitchen and patio area. I have instantly imagined, that we will be definitely having a glass of wine or two in that patio! Why not? The kitchen was well equipped and I was really surprised, as usually, you find empty units for this price. It had everything from the french press, toaster to microwave and of course including all crocked and cutlery. The kitchen was well prepared for anyone who wishes to cook indoor rather dine outside.
The rooms had the comfiest beds ever with layers of sheets and loads of cushions! I totally love having 1000s cushions around me. I also found clean towels on the bed and spare ones in the wardrobe. It also had extra blankets, iron and even hair dryer! Literally everything you need to spend few days and feel like home.

Same with bathrooms, they were very clean and spacious with a choice of shower and bath ( which I had both!). I even found a toilet roll which was very convenient ( I hate when you rent room ad there is no roll, as this is the last thing in my head when packing and then I always have the unpleasant surprise).
The apartments decor is something I wanted to mention separately. Each room has been designed to a high standard, with a touch of luxury yet homely feel. The colour scheme was neutral but with bold touches and selection of designer furniture and art pieces. It literally gave me the little taste of how it would be to live in London in some luxury apartment.
When my 2 days past in the property, I was really sad to leave yet I missed my cats. I also need to mention that the staff was super friendly and the whole process of renting was really enjoyable.
- I was invited to stay free of charge, but opinion is entirely my own.
