Let’s talk a little about bathrooms again. I think it’s been a while since I added post about a bathroom, and you know I love this subject. I have recently been scrolling through my images I took last year in the kitchen, bathroom & bedroom trade show and there were so many designs ideas, it made me thinking how people chose bathtub to their homes. (Btw, recommend that show for anyone who is going through a home refurbishment!)
So, a little guide.
If you’re thinking about purchasing a new bathtub, you have a choice between many different types and designs. As the largest, most focal component within a bathroom, the bathtub you choose should reflect your personality and mesh well with surrounding décor and existing bathroom fixtures. This article outlines some of the most popular styles of bathtubs on the market to help you make the right choice suited to your exact needs.
Popular Different Styles of Bath Tubs
cast iron bathtub is one of the popular style of bathtub
Cast iron bath tubs can be extremely expensive, in particular, the antique designs, which project a portrait of luxurious elegance. Should your existing bathtub consist of cast iron, it is well worth attaining a valuation before simply throwing it out, as it may well fetch a sizeable amount to this day. Whilst maintaining their value over a long period of time, cast iron bathtubs remain popular nowadays too, and if already owning one, you could simply have your tub restored to its more attractive original state, provided it still matches up with your surrounding bathroom décor and other fixtures. If you are looking to purchase a cast iron bath tub for the first time, however, you need to take into account that it is far heavier than its counterparts, and requires more thorough maintenance as well.
Should you be keener to invest in a more modern bathtub, you can select from a wide variety of different materials, of which plastic, acrylic and steel are amongst the most popular. Each of these types of contemporary bath tubs are light in weight, particularly the two former options, yet still very solid and tough. One of the main advantages of these styles of bathtubs are that they can be manipulated into an array of unique designs and shapes, and nicely paired with all different types of fixtures and styles of décor. Plenty of modern bath tubs keep it simple with a white finish, though there are an extensive array of striking colored tubs on the market as well, should such designs best suit your preferences or needs.
If you’d like to install a circular bathtub, you’ll need to make sure you have plenty of floor space available. The presence of a circular bathtub can provide your bathroom with a truly exclusive aura, and by combining the style of a circular tub with impressive interior design choices, you’ll achieve a glamorous and enviable space that guests will find impossible to resist.
There’s a number of space saving bathtub designs available too, which as their moniker suggests, will help to maximise space within your bathroom. They are usually positioned in the corner or side of a room, and even angled to ensure they use up as little wall space as possible, allowing room for a towel warmer, shelving or any other fixture. As with most contemporary style tubs, these space saving designs are available in an array of colours, sizes and styles so you can find a customised option that matches up to your specific preferences or requirements.
Finally, rectangular bathtubs are one of the most common types on the market as well as one of the most affordable, yet most options fail to compromise in terms of aesthetic appeal. You can choose between different length rectangular tubs depending on their use, and again find an option that will fit any bathroom design theme.
With so many different styles to choose from, you’re sure to find a perfect option to enhance both the look and practicality of your bathroom space, regardless of the style of your décor.
