5 Beauty and Skincare Essentials for the Festive Party Season
The Christmas party can be a double-edged sword. Whilst we’re all given free rein to indulge ourselves in December, there can also be a tendency to overindulge and that temptation can prove hard to resist. Partygoers are more likely to remember you in a favourable light, however, if you make a good first impression and whilst you can glam yourself up with all the makeup in the world, if the foundation is lacking then it’s just poor window dressing.
Whether you’re celebrating the season with your friends, family or co-workers, the Christmas or New Year party is bound to be an event that you’ll want to pull out all the stops for. Here, we’ll give you a few top tips to make sure your skin is sharp enough that your more questionable dance moves and ostentatious Christmas jumpers will be forgiven.

Concealer
It’s not uncommon in December to find those dark circles around your eyes deepening. With the long and cold nights descending, however, there is a simple fix. A little concealer can go a long way, particularly colour correcting concealer that creates a more natural blend. So, even if you only got 3 hours sleep the night before, you can fool everyone into thinking you had a full 8 hours.
A Golden Glow
Winter can be a magical season, but to say it’s not ideal for developing a decent tan would be a severe understatement. Self-tanning or ‘bronzing’ wipes are a cost-effective and convenient way to maintain that golden glow, even in the months when the sun decides it wants nothing to do with us. Use them sparingly though, as you don’t want to look like you’ve just returned from the surface of the sun. Also, remember to let your skin dry before putting your clothes back on as this stuff stains!

Face Masks
The ravages of the modern world mean that skin damage is a deeper problem now than it ever has been, with so many of us now used to facing the world with dull complexions. This can be no more evident than in the face, where every crease and crinkle is magnified due to the sheer amount of attention paid. At any Christmas party, you’ll be posing for a lot of pictures and making sure your face is pure and ready to receive a festive makeover should be priority number one. A face mask is a perfect antidote if you don’t have the time to hit the spa. A mask will draw the impurities from your face and bring your skin back to life, ready to be further beautified in time for the big night!

Peel Pads
Peel pads are specially formulated to exfoliate your skin and are often applied directly after cleansing and before moisturising. Simply wipe the pad gently across your face and allow the pads to do their work, resurfacing dead cells and evening out your natural tone. It’s important to note, however, that peel pads are not a miracle cure for damaged skin; they will only work overtime if used regularly. So, if that party is a few weeks away, you might want to get started pronto! Also note that they can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, but given the long nights and short days of December, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Don’t Neglect the Rest
Your face is important, of course, but don’t forget if you want to bust out a backless dress, make sure the rest of your body is up to scruff by using a cloth to exfoliate and plenty of body lotion to lock that hydration in. The best time to take care of your body is at night just before bed. The cleansing cloth pack by Neom Organics is a perfect affordable solution that is also designed to be used with a cleansing sleep balm to help you fall into a deep and natural sleep.
