Previously, I wrote a post about Gran Canaria, Amadores Beach, today I want to show you the lovely hotel where I stayed in Sentido Princess hotel, Gran Canaria, Playa Del Ingles. When searching for a hotel, the first thing I wanted to focus on was an option for an adult only hotel. I don’t have kids, I don’t mind them, but when on holiday, I want to relax and not be disturbed. We booked via Thomas Cook on this occasion, as it was cheaper to go with the package holiday including flights, transfers, and hotel with all Inclusive board and I must say it was the best decision ever, I’ll explain why later.
We arrived very late in the evening, our coach stopped right outside the front doors, this was very convenient with my heavy case, full of shoes and half of my wardrobe. On arrival, we were handed the keys card to our room, given a black badge that indicated the all-inclusive board. Tired, yet full of excitement and ready for an adventure, we rolled into the lift to realize we were given a top floor room! We have quickly found our room, walked in and just gasped for a moment followed by a running and screaming like kids as upon realising we were given not just a top floor room, but a top corner room with the prettiest view and the biggest balcony ever! The view in the evening was breathtaking and we sat on our balcony and just enjoyed it. I went in to make a cup of tea and noticed we were given a bottle of rum and box of chocolate as a welcome gift! This was so sweet! We were also equipped with a large bottle of still water which was absolutely a must have after a dehydrating flight.
room
The room was really spacious and well equipped but most catchy was the decor. I absolutely loved the very soft and soothing colour palette with greys, whites, and touch of purple. Most of the furniture was white with white tiled floors and just soft accents of colours via fabrics and art, it gave the room a very luxurious feel. It instantly made us feel very relaxed yet, we felt we were given that extra special treat. The room was also very well equipped, including everything you need from a hairdryer and iron to spare blankets and pillows.
The bathroom was simply stunning with green marble tiles, large mirror along with the selection of toiletries to use. I particularly loved the shower, as rainforest head gave us really nice experience. Especially in the morning, when we had a really good night sleep to wake up and get a shower like that before heading downstairs for a breakfast was amazing.
The bed was super comfy and a really nice size. The bed sheets were clean and smelled fresh, and the duvet was super soft. The room was also air-conditioned and the temperature was just perfect. The curtains were thick enough to cover the entire window if we wanted an afternoon nap. and the fridge size was perfectly sized for any snacks and drinks.
dining
The first morning we woke up and headed for a breakfast, and I had the chance to have a look at the beautiful lobby in a daylight. As we were starving we headed straight to the restaurants to find an open large dining area with a buffet style ( but with chefs on the side to cook fresh eggs, bacon and more). We took a table outside on the terrace to enjoy the fresh and warm air then headed to pick choose our first breakfast. The selection was huge, from healthy choices to the sweet options, including local produced dairy and meats and also a typical English breakfast. We honestly didn’t know where to start! Our coffee came from a coffee machine and we could choose from a large range, cappuccino, hot chocolate to flat Americano. I personally dislike ready made jug coffee’s and prefer machine’s so this one was a winner! As we sat the staff walked around taking orders for drinks, and food for all customers regardless if all inclusive or B&B. They were very friendly and attentive. As the hotel is very large and can accommodate a large number of people, the dining room was nearly full, yet there was always enough staff around if we needed any extra drinks, glasses or cutlery etc.
After our breakfast, we headed to the pool and had look around and literally loved what I’ve seen I saw in front of me. Really beautifully shaped pool, with central bar island ( all the cocktails by the pool!) First thing I noticed, is was a number of loungers but as it was already 9 am 80% of them was were full so I started to worry if we would get one. I can now say that I shouldn’t have worried as there are always some spare as people left early, and kept swapping. What I also noticed and forgive me if that’s rather rude, but there weren’t as many typical ‘’towel’ reservations as happen in family hotels. People just take their belongings and go rather than occupy the entire lounger for all day. Yes, it happens occasionally but it wasn’t the case at all the time. I’ve been in a hotel where this was standard practice and if you are not an early bird you may end up on the floor or grass for the day.
We sadly missed some of the proposed hotel entertainment as were more ‘’let’s go out in the evening’ people than stay in the hotel. However, the parts that we join attended were really interesting. Local artists, singers, and dancers swirl around and make people laugh, make people dance and smile. Other than the evening entertainment there was loads of stuff to do in the daytime, from archery, ping pong to social group activities. Plenty of occasions to make new friends, have fun and yet learn new things.
I will now praise the all-inclusive board. This was so by far the best decision we made. The bar was really well equipped and the selection of cocktails was actually really nice and you could choose pretty much anything from the menu with very few exclusions. As we sat by the pool the temperature was high, we were thirsty and excited to try the cocktails. The bar staff was super friendly, we not only got nice drinks, but also they were super chatty and every trip for a drink was a pleasure. There wasn’t much of a queue at the bar at any time, whether weekends or weekdays and regardless of the time of the day.
Also, Every evening, we pretty much got a bottle of cava. We just asked for a full bottle rather than by the glass so we could enjoy the luxury of having our own private bottle and just sip cava all day long. By the second day when we got very friendly with the staff at the bar and they knew what we wanted, so we’re always served with a smile and bottle of cava ready for us to pick up. It was such a nice feeling.
What I also loved about the All INCLUSIVE was that we were not hungry, thirsty or bored of the selections at ANY point as there was always something new to try. The lunch and dinner menu changed daily by the time we left we hadn’t had the time to try everything. All of the food was simply delicious, and with chefs on the side, you had always the opportunity to ask them to cook for you the way you like it! It was fully a Luxurious feeling.
The outdoor bar was a like a posh bar in central London style, with the difference being that you have real plants, real warm temperature and true holiday feeling to it. Decorated with sophisticated finish with a light cube, waterproof yet comfy seats and soft light it was the pleasure to sip a cocktail or cava there. We always made sure we came back early enough, to have that little moment there.

Literally, we loved every aspect of the hotel. From the very tasteful and beautiful decor to the amazing all inclusive part and super friendly staff. I would truly recommend truly this hotel to anyone!!

Absolutely adore the hotel! I really want to go on all inclusive somewhere in gran canaria so will into this one!
Sounds like a great hotel, even though I have kids I love knowing there are only adult hotels and places to stay too because when I want a break I don’t want other kids around either.
